Problem playing .MOV Kodac Camera File on Ultimate & Premium. Anyone know how to make this work.

Installed K-Lite on XP Pro and Ultimate using the same .EXE installer. After error I reinstalled K-Lite on Ultimate with new download.
XP Pro plays the .MOV Kodac Camera file, Ultimate wont play the same file. Error message below.

From VCP homepage:
Some MOV files (from camera's) may require you to use the shortcuts provided. Look in the MOV settings folder. (The .MOV files are from a camera) This allowed WMP to play the video but no sound.
Installed Media Player Classic, got error below, after clicking OK video played with no sound

Hello Glatzfront,
I think the .MOV file extension belongs to Quicktime Player. You can download/install the latest quicktime player from Apple - QuickTime - Download I hope this helps! Thanks

Yes, you'll need to either

I used Super to convert the files.

Below, from the Shark007 home page, am I misunderstanding this? I read it that the VCP package should play the MOV file without any additions.

"The Vista Codec Package no longer includes any QuickTime components. VCP is fully capable of MOV and 3GP playback without any QuickTime software installed. This release of QuickTime Lite for VCP uses the original MSI installer from Apple to install a 'lite' version of QuickTime which will provide full browser support for viewing and downloading QuickTime files. It installs a single shortcut to the VistaCodecs\32Bit Tools directory. It does not install the Player, Image Viewer or Java components which are part of a full QuickTime installation."

Codecs for this .MOV file are:

Video = M-JPEG
Audio = PCM

Maybe I still need the PCM audio codec? Going to do some more checking.

Kewl, good luck and hope it all works out for you.

if you find a neat solution, let us know - perhaps that QT addon package for VCP might be the solution for you, as the Kodak Cameras include their own little player by default as well....

I Can't play .MOV camera videos with WMP 11 in Vista or WMP 10 in Pro and I didn't fool with trying
to find the correct individual codec, if possible.

With K-lite codec package on XP Pro I'm able to play the .MOV camera video with their Media Player
Classic. K-Lite and Media Player Classic wouldn't play the video on vista.

NO sound with Vista Codec Package on Vista and Media Player Classic.

VLP works out-of-the-box with Vista for playing the .MOV camera video, I haven't tried it on XP.
