Easter Wreath DIY (Bunny Shaped) (1)

Decorating for spring is easy with this Easter door wreath from Heather Painchaud that is very simple. The white fur is a fun addition and really makes the purple (or whatever color you choose) for the ribbon, bunny ears and flower tail stand out. Pretty sweet, isn’t it? This tutorial breaks down this project step-by-step using items that can be found at a dollar store, much like this St. Patrick’s Day Wreath that uses white chunky yarn and Shamrock accents.

Bunny Wreath Supplies

You can substitute larger wreath forms, such as 9 inch and 12 inch instead for this project. (Be sure to account for more fur ribbon needed). Rather than a foam wreath form you can also use wicker, wire, or wired jute if that is what you have available. Wreath forms can be found at your local dollar store such as Dollar Tree or you can find them in multi-packs for a better value than purchasing individually on Amazon.

How to Make an Easter Wreath

Here is how to make this fun Easter wreath for your front door or as decor in any part of your home. Begin by wrapping both of the wreath forms completely in faux fur and attach to the form with hot glue.

Now it is time for those finishing touches! For this bunny, various shades of purple were used but you can swap out your favorite color or use a combination of colors instead.

Cut a faux flower from the stem and glue to the bottom front of the largest wreath in the center for the bunny tail.

Tie a bow with the ribbon and glue it in between the two wreath forms. Glue the bunny ear headband to the top of the smaller wreath. Finish it off by hanging with floral wire or adding additional ribbon to the top with a loop and securing with hot glue. Hang with floral wire.

Faux Fur Ribbon

If you’ve never worked with faux fur, please note that it does make a mess. One of my local favorite makers, Missy at thelittlegreenbean has shared the fur mess, but the the results are worth it! If you want to skip fur completely, you could opt for a loop yarn or just a thick and chunky yarn instead and create a bunny wreath similar to this available for purchase on Etsy.
