You will love this easy lacy spring shawl crochet pattern!

Have you ever purchased a yarn not knowing what you were going to make with it? It was so pretty and nice that you purchased it without having a project in mind.

Well the initial yarn used in this project was a yarn that I had purchased back in 2018 with no idea what to make with it.

I attempted a scarf at one point but half way through that project I decided that this yarn was not the yarn for that specific scarf design.

That half finished scarf design then sat on my yarn shelf for many months until I was recently inspired. I decided to challenge myself with using up some yarn I already had in my stash.

Pattern Details:

I am so happy with how this spring shawl turned out with this specific yarn and I am so glad this yarn has now been used to create something beautiful!

This shawl uses a DK weight 3 yarn. The first sample of this spring shawl used Luna by Premier Yarns. This yarn is a self striping yarn. That means it creates rows of different colors without the need to the use a new skein of yarn in order to change color.

The newest updated sample of this shawl uses Premier Bloom DK.

The main stitch used in this pattern is called the Y-stitch. This stitch is what makes this a lacy shawl design. The Y-stitch is worked by using 3 stitches together. The treble crochet stitch, the double crochet stitch and a chain stitch.

I hope you enjoy making this shawl and if you like this design you may also like my Seaside Shawl! You can read about the Seaside Shawl HERE.
