Happy New Year! To start the new year with the right foot, I thought of sharing with you these 30+ amazing scrap-busting free crochet patterns!
On average, every new year, I make the very firm resolution that this is the year I’m finally going to attack my stash.
And when I say stash, you might know exactly what I mean!
If you’ve been crocheting or knitting for any given time, you probably grew your own stash without even realizing it.
So now, you have boxes and boxes of yarn of all sorts of weight, fiber content, and colors.
And while some of that yarn might be enough for an entire project in one single color, the majority is not that much at all! Probably, you have lots of these half balls and little scraps from previous things you made…
So, what should you do with them?
The simple answer is a stash-busting project!
What is a Stash Buster?
In crochet and knit, a stash buster is a project that allows you to mix and match all kinds of leftover yarn from your stash to create something new, creative and unique!
A stash-buster project can be anything from large projects, such as a sweater, a blanket (a.k.a. scrapgan), pillow covers, etc, to smaller projects, like fingerless gloves, beanies, etc.
One last stash-busting category comprises all those scrap busters, i.e. tiny things that you can crochet with very small scraps of yarn, like appliques, small amigurumi, coasters, chair leg warmers, etc.
