The more that we think about it, the more we realize that Cricut and resin projects go together like any classic pairing… peanut butter and jelly, us and crafting.
Can You Use a Cricut with Resin?
Absolutely! There are so many ways you can elevate your resin crafting with a Cricut machine. Use resin as the ultimate sealer of your Cricut vinyl project, to personalize gifts and so much more.
What’s the Best Kind of Resin to Pour Over Vinyl?
If you’re using resin to seal the surface of a vinyl project (like these tumblers), then the best choice is a coating epoxy. Envirotex Lite, Amazing Clear Cast, MAS Table Top Pro and Promise Table Top Epoxy are all coating epoxies.
If you’re going to be covering a vinyl design with a deeper pour (like if you have vinyl in the bottom of a deep mold that you will then be filling with resin), you may opt for a deep pour epoxy like Amazing Deep Pour or Promise Deep Pour Epoxy.
Can a Cricut Cut Resin?
The Cricut Maker can cut thicker materials with a knife blade, but most projects would be too thick to pass through the cutting machine. If it’s a thin project (like resin skins used in this mosaic tray) it might work, but we haven’t tried it so we can’t recommend it.
Can you Engrave Epoxy Resin with a Cricut?
Although the Cricut Maker has the capability to engrave with the engraving tip, we haven’t tried this. Most resin projects would be too thick to be able to pass through the Cricut.
