Even if youhomeschool, your kids will probably be exchanging adorable valentines with their friends. You could always choose to make your own DIY Valentines or go with a store-bought option. But using a printable homemade Valentine’s Day card might be the easiest and cutest alternative around.
As long as you have some cardstock and a color printer, you can quickly print out some darling printable Valentine’s Day cards at home. Handmade cards are often the most appreciated variety and they provide an opportunity to keep little hands busy throughout a morning of craft time.

This printable is unfortunately not free, but at $2.99, I think it’s worth the cost. This is one of the coolest homeschool printables I’ve seen. It’s available in a number of seasonal themes, including Valentine’s Day.
Designed for children as young as 5, this set of five colorful worksheets introduces kids to the core concepts of coding such as algorithms, sequencing, loops, decomposition, and branching. It also helps them develop interdisciplinary skills like logic, problem-solving, and number sense. As far as kindergarten math worksheets go, this one takes the (red velvet) cake.
VALENTINE CRAFT
Older kids might enjoy this more detailed craft. As a unique way of delivering a Valentine’s message, why not have them design their own carrier pigeon with a tiny envelope to hold their sweet messages? This project is a little more intricate and will require a greater skill level. But the cuteness factor makes it totally worthwhile.
VALENTINE COLORING PAGES
A lot of homeschool moms I know aren’t really that into Valentine’s Day. It can start to feel like a made-up holiday that candy companies promote to encourage us to spend more money. And to some extent it is, but that doesn’t mean it has to stay that way.
Why not use this heart-filled holiday to color some science valentines and turn it into a lesson on the heart. This anatomically correct heart template from Kelly’s Classroom can be colored and given to a parent, sibling, or friend. Bonus points if they label it!

And you can incorporate the love theme into your language arts lesson for the day.
Here’s an especially creative idea for using Valentine’s Day to teach your little ones about the true meaning of love. This free printable matching game from Mommy Snippets pairs up cute animals with lessons on love from 1 Corinthians 13.
A VALENTINE’S DAY HISTORY LESSON
To increase the educational value of Valentine’s day, you could include a brief history lesson on the background story of the saint after whom the holiday is named. This study goes along with a particular book from the “Five in a Row” series. If you decide to use it, you’ll want to secure a copy of the book in advance.
This lesson from Chronicles of Momia comes with a free printable activity featuring pictures from the story, which kids will be asked to put in order. There’s also a handwriting sheet kids can use to practice their letters.
